This is going to be a question for ages I think. AI art may not be intentionally stealing human artwork in the traditional sense. When AI creates art, it does so by analyzing and learning from existing human-created artworks, but it doesn't have the conscious intention to plagiarize or steal. AI algorithms are designed to recognize patterns and styles, and they use this knowledge to generate new pieces based on what they've learned.
Many think of AI as a tool to use. Well yes that is true, but it also learns off of completed art / photos by the artist. As well as all the images on the internet before Sept 2021.
AI combines the creativity of humans with the computational power of machines to produce unique and I must say captivating artworks. Through the use of algorithms and neural networks, AI art can generate paintings, drawings, sculptures, and even interactive installations. This is just the beginning right now and it is learning at a huge rate of speed and time.
The process often involves feeding the AI system with vast amounts of existing art and data, allowing it to learn and mimic various artistic styles and techniques. This innovative approach to art creation opens up new possibilities, blurring the lines between traditional and digital art, and giving rise to astonishing pieces that challenge our perceptions of creativity and the boundaries of imagination.
However, the question of whether AI art can be considered original or a mere imitation is a huge topic of debate in the art community. Some argue that since AI is essentially mimicking existing styles, it lacks true originality and creativity. On the other hand, proponents of AI art argue that the process of combining different styles and generating unique compositions can result in genuinely novel creations.
Ultimately, the ethical implications of AI art and its relationship to human artists are complex and subjective. It's essential for AI artists and developers to acknowledge and give credit to the human artists whose work influenced the algorithms. Additionally, as AI art continues to evolve, society will need to address questions of intellectual property and authorship in this rapidly changing landscape.

Here are some tips to help you get started with paint pouring:
Prepare your workspace: Cover your work area with a plastic sheet or tarp to protect your surfaces from paint spills. You may also want to wear old clothes or an apron to protect your clothes.
Choose the right surface: Use a surface that is level and smooth, such as a canvas, wood panel, or ceramic tile. It's also important to make sure that the surface is clean and free of dust.
Mix your paints properly: Mix your paints with pouring medium and water to get the right consistency. Honey constancy to thick water (depending on the technique you are going for) And the ratio of paint to pouring medium and water will depend on the brand of paint and pouring medium you are using.
Experiment with different pouring techniques: There are many different pouring techniques you can try, such as the flip cup, swipe, or puddle pour. Experiment with different techniques and see what works best for you.
Use a torch or heat gun: (I don't do this every time but you can try it) After pouring your paint, use a torch or heat gun to remove any bubbles and create interesting patterns in the paint.
Let your painting dry properly: Let your painting dry completely before moving it or applying any finishing touches. This can take anywhere from weeks to 3 weeks, depending on the thickness of your paint and the humidity in your house.
Have fun and be creative: The beauty of paint pouring is that there are no rules, so feel free to experiment and let your creativity flow!
Kinda like a Rorschach test for the art world, where everyone sees something different in the abstract blobs of color. But let's be real, the best part about paint pouring art is the excuse it gives us to make a MESS!
Forget about trying to stay within the lines or worrying about getting paint on your clothes, because with paint pouring, the messier the better.... well sort of. Your mind can go wild and free making this art. Just don't forget to lay down a tarp or sheet or something to cover your floor.
Watch this to learn about swirls and making cells in paint:
And finally, let's not forget about the biggest challenge of all in paint pouring art: waiting for the paint to dry. It's like actually watching paint dry, but you're actually waiting for the paint to dry...lol You're so excited to see the final product, but you have to wait weeks for the paint to set. Yes it takes some patience and don't touch it until you are sure. But when the paint finally does dry, and you get to see the finished masterpiece, it's all worth it.

Versatility: Unicorn SPiT can be used as a stain, glaze, or a paint, making it a versatile option for a variety of projects.
Easy to Use: Unicorn SPiT is easy to apply and does not require any special tools or techniques. But you will find that people have made many of their own techniques. Simply brush it on and let it dry.
Water-Based: Unlike many other stains and glazes, Unicorn SPiT is water-based, making it safer and easier to clean up.But this makes it need a oil base top coat. Do not use a water based top coat because it reactivates your spit and could ruin your project.
Vibrant Colors: Unicorn SPiT is available in a range of vibrant colors that can be mixed to create custom shades.
Safe for Children: Unicorn SPiT is non-toxic and safe for children to use, making it a popular choice for art and craft projects. An adult will have to do the top coat or a child with adult supervision.
Doesn't Stink!: Unlike other staining products, Unicorn SPiT has a low odor, making it suitable for use in enclosed spaces.
Long-lasting: Unicorn SPiT dries to a durable, long-lasting finish that is resistant to fading and chipping.
Easy Cleanup: Cleanup is easy with just soap and water.
Versatile Surfaces: Unicorn SPiT can be used on a wide range of surfaces, including wood, metal, glass, ceramic, and more.

Here are some basic Beginner tips and guidelines for working with epoxy resin:
Preparation: Clean the surface thoroughly and make sure it is free of dirt, grease, and other contaminants. If necessary, use a solvent such as alcohol to clean the surface. Use the necessary PPE while using.
Mixing: Read the instructions carefully (each brand can be different) and mix the epoxy resin and hardener in the correct ratio, usually 1:1. Mix thoroughly to ensure a consistent mixture.
Pour: Pour the mixed epoxy resin onto the surface you want to cover. If you want to create a thicker layer, you can pour multiple layers, allowing each layer to dry before adding the next. Or use a deep pour epoxy. There are different kinds so plan accordingly.
Bubbles: If bubbles form in the mixture, you can pop them with a lighter or a heat gun. This will also help remove any air that might be trapped in the mixture. If using a torch keep it moving and flame above the resin. It can burn the resin causing divots.
Curing: Epoxy resin takes time to cure, usually 24-48 hours. Cover it for flying pet hair and dust. Avoid touching or disturbing the surface during this time.
Finishing: Once the epoxy resin has cured, you can sand or polish it to get a smooth finish. You can also add color or glitter to the mixture before pouring to create a custom look. If it does have bubbles or divots a second layer is needed.
Safety: When working with epoxy resin, be sure to wear gloves and work in a well-ventilated area to avoid inhaling the fumes. The resin can be harmful if ingested, so keep it away from food, drinks pets and children.
These are just some general guidelines for working with epoxy resin. It's important to read the instructions carefully for each specific product and follow the manufacturer's recommendations for best results. It's ok to call the company and ask any question you need.

Princess Beach Blend: Sand your furniture piece.
Colors used: Blue Thunder, Zia and Pixie Pink Punk,
Mix the zia 50/50 with Blue thunder and Pixie Pink Punk to make it more of pastel color look. Start and work quickly putting the spit down and blend as you go. If you go back over it has to be good a wet still otherwise it will pick back up and or over mix. Let completely dry and seal. More on sealing check out my youtube The Art Chick
This is a dollar store vase (below) and then Unicorn spit is dripped from a paint brush down the sides. When I was getting close to being done I carefully spilled some out to help that dry in a shorter time. Check outside of vase and wipe any spit that is on the outside. Leave some bare spots and let completely dry for a week maybe more if needed. Then tap off and put a bag over it. Spray paint gold on the inside - or any color you would like.
This process is the Princess Beach blend on a different project.
Unicorn Spit on a plant stand. (below)
"Unicorn Spit" night light: Up cycling a plastic container. Unicorn spit the outside how every you want. For this it was full strength spit. I painted a autumn unicorn for my daughters room. I sealed with clear spray paint and added white Christmas lights on the inside. The brown color is the natural color of the wood showing through.
Coffee Table: Not into all the mixed colors? Here is a Blue thunder/ Zia 50/50 mix.
Unicorn Spit is not exactly like paint some of the wood especially if darker will show through. It's the beauty of it's nature. Get paint if you want a full coverage or you can do several coats, but you have to seal each one, otherwise the wet spit will just reactivate and you will have a mess.
Practice:
2 colors can make a great orange color. The colors really pop with Unicorn Spit.
It is important to practice when you first receive it to learn and feel how it works. Below was a practice board. For this one I used it straight no water. I squeezed random colors on the board and used a dry brush to go back and forth with a light touch and I didn't go back and rework parts that were done.
Small table with drawer:
Colors used:
Princes beach blend on a wood wine rack.
This is more complicated (Below) , wood is burned with a torch and follow the wood grain as you go. Video on how this is done here: the Art Chick Youtube
Use it on other surfaces :
This took a month of work and can show you what you can do with some practice.
Often this question comes up:
A lot of people ask this because they don't like the way Oil sealers yellow the look. Oil sealer is recommend . Epoxy (which is a learning curve in itself) Can also be used. I can tell you in my practice sessions I have sprayed 3 coats of clear spray paint on top (most brands work) and then after complete drying applied 2 coats of water based sealer and I was good to go.

Stay away from the color yellow for now. Pick colors if mixed that will go together and not make brown . Pick one that is easier like Flip cup or swipe (swipe less paint needed. Watch a youtube video and follow along.
Stick with the one you picked till you feel comfortable with it and then move on.
Start with easier ones:
Pick up to 3 colors - refrain from picking yellows. Think if they all mix what would the color be? If it was brown skip those colors. Think Blue, white, pink mixed you will get purple.
What you will need (affiliate link because I like and use them)
To save some money scrape the canvases that you don't like and reuse. I save my scraped paint to mix all together to make a different color.
Ideas: old records as a canvas, think outside the box for cheaper ideas. You can get canvases at thrift shops or yard sales.
Strain your floetrol before mixing it with your paint. It can get clumpy. Attach a piece of panty hose to the bottle so it strains as you pour. If you don't catch it it will be a bump in your finished piece.
Paint mixing is important: Basically follow this to start with the mention techniques. (Flip cup or Swipe) Mixed ratio are appx doesn't have to be exact because it's about the consistency. Paint drips in a string like flow. 1 part paint + 2 parts flood add drips of water if needed for the string like flow off of whatever you are mixing it with.
This is one of the hardest part to starting. I use a fold out table with a tarp underneath. Then you also have to consider where to put them when they are drying. It has to be level otherwise the paint will just slide right off. I got impatient and skipped that step and woke up the next day to see it dripped a long paint line on the plastic and on our carpet - I washed but it was the next day and black in color! Eeks what a mess.
Please, Please don't be afraid to start. Just start small and figure practice time doesn't have to be master pieces. Learning the paints, and thickness and movement right now is more important.

Resin Geode Wall Art has become a trendy beautiful Art form. Inspired by natural geodes, you can now create beautiful geodes with resin and a few sparkly items.
You can also embellish any paint pour into a Gorgeous Geode. If you use gems in it it will have to be secured. Resin will secure just about anything you put in it. If you have used silicone in your paintings you may have to wipe that down with alcohol or coat with something like clear spray paint first.

When you are just beginning with acrylics, the process is likely to be a little tricky. There are a few tricks to using acrylics effectively, though, and once you have mastered them you will be able to use them to create beautiful art pieces.
Let's say you don't have enough paint for a whole cup pour or a bloom pour.
I would recommend the swipe pour. It just uses a bit less paint than the others with really cool results. Great for when your low on paint.
-check the video below to see this full view skull swipe!
Acrylic is inexpensive, easy to use, and very versatile. Acrylics can be used on almost any surface, and they can also be mixed with other paints to create unique shades. Even if you're new to painting, you can paint with acrylic paints to create beautiful pieces of art.
Acrylic paints are typically mixed with Flood, a pouring medium. Usually the mixture is 1 part paint to 2 parts pouring medium and (water to thin more) couples of drops of silicone although Flood brings out cells as well.

]]>It happens to all of us artists at one time or another with negative comments on social media or in person. Of course, it is different if you are asking, often those suggestions will help you grow even if you have to take a breath and take it in, then exhale it out.
Art is a great meditation and helps many people get though rough times. It is healing. Don't let negative comments stifle your creative soul.
"When commenters say rude comments it reveals something about them as a person and not you."
This also will be looked at for you and the way you decide to answer or address online rudeness. In your moment think about how or why is this comment being said. "Is there anything to learn?" "Are they being rude or is it because you disagree?" "Are they just being out right Mean with nothing good to say?"
Before you explain your position hear them out. They might be curious or you think it is criticism when it actually not.
For example I Got this comment on my youtube channel the Art Chick
"it really bugs me that you dont show us what it looks like with the clear coat, it would be nice to know how the clear makes the piece pop or not, we come here to learn and its unfulfilling when we dont get to see the final finish."
This wasn't too rude it was a bit lets say sting(y) Could it have been said differently , yes, of course. I checked back to the video and realized I had forgotten to put the ending there so I did learn something and responded:
"Oh my gosh you are totally right and I even filmed it. I will be putting it up after editing - probably 2 days or less. I would have never known I forgot that."
This is online and I don;t want to come off rude because my art channel is about having fun and learning.
There is one I left alone on that same video here: Out Right RUDE
I could have deleted if I wanted , but people stuck up for me which I thought was cool so I left it.
That is the harder thing to do. On many social medias there are just plain nasty rude humans. They say it and move on to another leaving behind so much negativity in their wake. If it's on your post it's ok to simply remove and or block them if necessary.
If it is just rude and you are able to say your response with wit or dignity take that road.
I recently put an item up for sale and it had a flag and eagle on it. I was very proud of it and didn't make it for any one party or anything like that. I started it when I saw all the essential workers step up during the corona virus outbreak.
I love our flag and see hope, hope to be better, I see freedom , freedom for all! I happily listed it for sale and second day received and email (yep you read it right --> an email they actually took the time I was so surprised) I won't go into details, but it wasn't a good one and even said disparaging flag ideals. I was pretty de-flated that day. When I posted to social media so far great comments and it's strange that that one sticks around stinging.
Dealing with public and your art is often a tricky situation. Over time it is easier to develop a thick skin. Don't make excuses for your work. It came from your heart and there is a piece of you in it. Appreciate the support you do get and try to let that sink in deeper.

Fixing the Epoxy Resin Sagging Canvas: How to do some pre-work and fix that sagging canvas problem. With out using foam cutouts. Resin can get heavy and cause the canvas to pool in the middle. Check out this video for how to avoid that problem.

Any should work. Just be careful to not put too much in the resin. Resin will react to the acrylic and you will get hardening and bubbles. Think about 7% acrylic to resin.
All of these products are great but you can use things in nature as additives such as this beautiful Stone Lake table.

]]>Safe super vibrantly colorful gel/paint wood stain that looks outstanding! Many people use multiple colors in one project. I call it Magic in a bottle! This article covers 3 techniques anyone can do.
Spit is not exactly paint so it works different. It is described as paint, a glaze, and a gel stain all in one. But it doesn't work like paint that you are used too. It blends like melted butter. And it is natural for some of the wood to show through on completion.
There is also a bit on how to seal because that is important to not make a mistake on that part. It recommends oil sealer a water-based sealer will re-ignite the water based spit. A lot of people ask this because they don't like the way oil sealers yellow the look. In the video I explain how you can do it with water based with a few preparations ahead of time.
When you first get it take a few moments to practice. Shake, first then Open those bottles and get too it. Don't wait and be afraid have fun and play with it! You will be upset you waited so long.

About Spit
Designed by Michelle Nicole out of the need for a non-toxic colorful gel stain that her elderly friends could use --- even if they couldn't hold a paintbrush --- and boom in Feb. of 2015 our beloved Unicorn SPiT™ was born!
Michelle started making it in her house and later moved into full production that's why my bottles look different than current versions today. The first bottles (we affectionately call home brew) are held very dear to the members of the Unicorn group that have been here from the beginning.

There is so much more to say about this Magic in a bottle. There is so many things that it can be used on. I will be writing more on this amazing product! This is just the beginning. #UnicornSpit #Colorwoodstain #DIY #Upcycle

]]>I had a love/hate relationship with it until I used it many many times. Now I feel comfortable using it. This one turned out like a gorgeous Galaxy!
In this video I make this plant stand into a piece of functional art.
You can choose any color combinations you want. This has 2 colors and an accent of LUXE powder Fire Rainbow! The 2 colors are blue and black. I added acrylic paint 2 drops in an approx cup full of resin.
One mistake I made so you don't have to is that I didn't seal the crack enough for it not to show through in the end. You can see it in the video and if you have a hot glue gun this would have taken car of it. I can still fix this though by adding one more clear flood coat. Most times you do need 2 coats to fix bubbling or bumps in the resin first coat.

If your a beginner I would advise looking into practice pieces before starting a project like this as it can take up to a 3 weeks to complete. Click for intro to Unicorn Spit
Unicorn Spit is considered a gel stain and glaze in ONE bottle. And believe me the bottle might be small, but it can be used in so many ways and can last over a year depending on how you use it!
Although you can use Spit on many different surfaces! Wood, glass, pottery, canvas, furniture, concrete and laminate I will show you how to apply on a unfinished wood picnic table. This is a 3 Part series. There is so much involved for this large project. First you have to sand any ruff spots and the picnic table is not assembled. This helps you get to all sides and edges.
If you are just interested in the top part skip to Part 3
Here is a video of how to torch wood: (fails and fixes)
PART 1
After that is completed you can happily move on to part 2 :) I this video you learn about Unicorn Spit and how to apply it to the wood. It's not exactly paint but the thicker you put it on is closer to paint. The beauty of spit is that it allows the wood grain to still show though. It's blends so nice like butter mmmmmm.
PART 2
For the top it can be anything you like. Here is how I accomplished the Flag and Eagle. Just for reference I had to speed up and cut some parts of the video so it was too long. For reference I spent and hour on the eagles head alone.
TIP: While working on your picnic table pieces cover with a tarp or keep inside -- it rained and the wood got wet and since it takes awhile it started to grey a bit. It caused more sanding and more work.
PART 3

Here is a video of how to torch wood: (fails and fixes)
It's ok to go back and look it over the next day and either sand or torch more. It's kinda hard to do it all in one day .....my hand starts hurting from holding the torch and I didn't want to drop it!
TIP: cover your picnic table pieces with a tarp or keep inside -- it rained and the wood got wet and since it takes awhile it started to grey a bit. It caused more sanding and more work.

When you are applying the US (unicorn spit) and it dries it looks almost dull and a bit chalky. The magic happens when you put the top coat on it deepens the color and shows more of the wood grain.

]]>Resin has it's own mind! The nature of it is a little unpredictable so don't think it will look exactly the same when dried. It has a flow to it and will change. You must go with what emerges and be ok with it!
You will see in the video tutorial that the pattern is different than what techniques were that were tried and still they came out absolutely gorgeous!
I'd have to say just about everything. If you want to use flowers then make sure they are completely dry! Resin warms so don't pick anything too light plastic as it could blob. You can add, seashells, crystals, acrylic crystals, vase fillers, so many things. Just remember to put them near the back for front because if they stick out you still have to be able to use them as coasters.

I adore using unicorn spit on wood as a stain. It can be diluted with water to stretch it even further. The results are a lighter color that still shows the wood grain. Which is my fav! I learned to not be scared of a torch and wood burn in order to make my projects even better.
